What is CAMELIDynamics™

Marty's approach to animals is very different from other methods, whether you've had llamas or alpacas for 2 months or 20 years you can learn and apply new skills that will change the relationship you have with your animals for the better.

Animals can think and reason-and they can't think and reason if they don't feel safe. Learning to see things from the animals point of view allows the handler to teach in a way that is easily understood and safe.

To effectively handle llamas and alpacas, we need them to do two things: stand still or move. The trick is getting them to do one or the other exactly when you want them to. Accomplishing these tasks is all a matter of balance.

Keeping the animal in balance keeps your animal still; causing the animal to lose balance makes the animal move. This applies to balancing the head over the body to handle the mouth, eyes and ears or keeping the animal in balance over their feet so you can pick up a foot and trim it. Teaching an animal to lead involves selectively changing the animal's balance to achieve the desired direction.

Learning CAMELIDynamics you will be able to apply these basics of balance, leverage and behavior to achieve the tasks you need while developing a harmonious and mutually beneficial relationship with your animal. Llamas and alpacas do have certain intuitions and past experience that result in caution around humans. CAMELIDynamics will help you understand this essence and operate respectfully to earn your animal's trust...in turn, a successful working relationship together.

Approach

Marty teaches handling techniques that minimize fear and therefore minimize instinctive resistance. Her methods do not rely on desensitization, habituation or repetition which are much more time consuming.

Marty will teach you to use balance, leverage, momentum, and center of gravity, as well as a knowledge of llama and alpaca body language to work easily and successfully with any animal immediately in safe and non threatening way.

Another critical aspect of working with your camelid is Marty's 4Point Approach which compliments and simplifies the TTEAM method. It is a way of describing and influencing the way llamas/alpacas and humans physically interact. The 4Point Approach provides a simple yet profound way of learning how to become the kind of presence your animal will enjoy being around.

Marty's methods enable the handler/teacher to teach a variety of skills without frustration, gain confidence in the human-animal bond and create a willing partnership based on mutual respect. Learning, knowing and applying CAMELIDynamics will positively impact the way you do everything with your animals.

These proven methods are practical, time efficient and rewarding for both you and your animal.
